I’ve been practicing energy healing since the early 2000s as a Reiki Master Practitioner, but my work truly transformed when I embarked on a journey of self-discovery through Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL).
As I became more authentically myself, I knew I wanted to offer Reiki healing but not in the traditional, silent, zen-like way I had been taught- It no longer felt true to me.
After years of practicing Reiki in its conventional form, I had actually stepped away from it, taking a ‘normal’ job because something about the practice felt inauthentic. I was playing the role of the zen-like healer, silently moving around the client’s body, following the method I had been taught to the letter. Beyond that, I also realised that my own practice, like many at that time, was all about escaping up into the higher realms, connecting to source, guides and high frequency energies to avoid the rather sticky, dense energy of our collective at that time.
When I began my journey with Eponaquest, I felt called to return to healing- this time, in a way that aligned with who I really was. The Eponaquest method & tools but, most especially, the horses themselves, required me to come back into my body, to ground and be present in the here and now.
Of course, this meant I had to face and overcome the patterns of belief and behaviour that I had previously been escaping from but, at least, I was learning the tools to help with all that and in the horses, I had the most gentle, wise guides to support me in doing so!
So to explore what felt natural, I started offering healing to animals at a sanctuary.
Then, everything changed.
During a session with a horse, I reached her energy field and stopped- suddenly something beyond reiki began to flow through me, I was working on the energy field rather than hands on to her body and was speaking and singing…something!
I had no idea what was happening or what I was saying, but I knew it was powerful. The horse had drawn it through me, unlocking this profound ability. As a rather vocal, energetic person and a singer & songwriter at heart, this really did feel authentic for me!
I told a friend of mine, Babs, ( a Dutch colleague on the apprenticeship with me) about the experience and described what I was saying and singing as ‘gobbledegook!” but she cried out straight away; ‘No, that is your Light Language!” Babs knew a healer in Holland, Kaiyann Isa, who had already been channelling Light Language.
Luckily, Kaiyann was just about to offer a Light Language Facilitator course and so I jumped on to practice this new gift and be supported by others who were doing the same.
Since that moment, I’ve come to understand that I don’t ‘heal’ my clients, whether human or animal. Instead, they draw through me the energy, light codes and frequencies they need to return to their own perfect health and well-being. Which is why I prefer to be called a channel than a healer- I channel the energy that you require for your body and soul to come back into alignment and heal itself.
This approach feels like the most natural extension of who I am and has completely transformed the way I support others on their healing journeys but it did take time for me to own it and be able to offer it, as it all seemed so very strange to me at first!
As you may know, by opening myself up to the fact that I'm a channel, the universe then opened up the path even further…
One day, when my daughter, Maya, was grappling with a decision she found hard, she asked for my support, and so, not knowing what was best either, I closed my eyes and centred myself and…a few minutes later I opened my eyes and asked Maya what had happened! She said I had begun to speak in a funny voice but that what had come through had answered her question beautifully and powerfully!
Once again, I had no idea what was happening but had to investigate, so I arranged for my friend, Babs to meet on zoom and for us to try it out again with her,Maya and another dear friend,Karin, asking questions.
What came through was astounding, the beings said they were my soul family from the Pleiades and that it was part of my journey to convey their wisdom and love via me. We began to meet regularly to practice because, the first few times, my body could only cope with a couple of minutes- I would come out of the trance sweating and coughing, my body not able, yet, to hold their frequency for long.
As the years have passed this gift has anchored in more and more and my guides often appear in private sessions and Healing Circles to support my clients with guidance and beautiful wisdom.
And that was, once again, just another new beginning that has lead to more- with my clients’ guides coming through at times, Mother Gaia and the elementals who are the Guardians of the land, plants and trees of our home and, now, even those who have passed over and wish to connect with their loved ones.
And finally- this ability to connect has also lead me to open up communication with animal beings which I have begun to practice for my clients and, of course, with my own dear Herd and the creatures who live on our land.
This journey has been one of wonder, surprise, beauty and just pure love.
