Every year, on the 8th of August, the cosmos offers us a doorway - a shimmering portal of light and possibility known as the Lion’s Gate. This alignment is one of the most potent energetic moments of the year, inviting us to awaken, receive and step more fully into our soul’s highest path.

What is the Lion’s Gate Portal?

The Lion’s Gate portal occurs when the Sun in Leo aligns with the star Sirius, Orion’s Belt, and the pyramids of Giza. This creates a cosmic bridge - a powerful influx of energy that has been revered for centuries as a time of heightened spiritual connection and transformation.

The portal peaks on 8/8 (August 8th), a date that carries the vibration of abundance, infinity and balance - the sacred number eight mirrored twice, amplifying its power. It’s a time when light codes from Sirius, often referred to as our spiritual “sun,” pour into Earth, offering upgrades to our consciousness and heart.

My Personal Connection

Perhaps because I’m a Leo, I’ve always felt this time of year as a homecoming - like my soul remembers something ancient. Each year, the Lion’s Gate reminds me of our inner courage: the quiet strength it takes to soften, to open the heart, to live aligned with who we truly are.

And this year, as we build up towards this special time and I can feel these energies and activations rise, I’ve witnessed exactly that in our beautiful mare, Eowyn.

Eowyn's Embodiment

Eowyn has been going through a big healing crisis these past 10 days or so. She became lame and we wondered if it was the signs of laminitis ( a dreaded inflammation of the gut and eventually,  hooves, of horses that can be caused by metabolic issues and difficulty processing sugars- so very much like diabetes in humans) and due to this I have put her on a supplement to help her metabolism  and heal her gut some more but, in fact, it was a chronic abscess in her hoof which was causing her so much pain, bless her.

I found it fascinating, but was not surprised, that this was how her body was purging during a time when myself, friends and clients have all seen another layer of healing happen within her, a letting go of more of her past and guardedness, a heart-opening and a welcoming of my help, attention and love that has surpassed any connection we had previously.

Eowyn has been embodying the Lion’s Gate activation so powerfully and beautifully and I am so proud of her and so very much in love with my fierce, big-hearted, beautiful mare.

Once again, a horse, or the herd embodies and shows us the healing process we require or we’re going through in a magical form of symbiosis.
